Making their own instruments hugely enhances children's experience of music and SOUND WORLD's workshops are always popular and successful. The workshops range from a single 2-hour session to series occupying several days where a wide variety of instruments can be made.

Making instruments is a brilliant activity for children, encouraging their natural creativity and introducing them to all sorts of new and exciting concepts and techniques. It is also a superb cross-curricular activity. SOUND WORLD runs workshops in schools and at other centres and events for 8-13 year old children.
The workshops are typically half a day long for each class. At the end of that, the children will have each made two or three fulfilling instruments, seen and heard a huge variety of novel instruments, and learnt a great deal in a short time, largely through practical application.
